Drink Driving Campaign Comes To An End.
The 2007 drink and driving awareness campaign has come to an end and if you havent seen the changes The Department for Transport have put in place we are posting them here as a reminder.
What can happen to you if you do choose to drink and drive is listed below.
1. Caught and breathalysed by the police.
2. Criminal record.
3. 12 month driving ban and up to 5000 pound fine.
4. Loss of relationships and/or job.
Other more hard hitting results of drink driving are:
Death - YOU, loved one, friend, relative, neighbour, person within your vehicle or in another vehicle on the road or just within range of your petrol tank.
Financial Loss - Wrapping your car around a tree, roundabout etc is going to smash that car you have worked so hard to buy and put on the road into a crumpled mess.
So you have loss of life and your hard earned cash as 2 more good reasons not to do it.

Watch Dog + Vauxhall.
Wednesday 25th April at 8PM. Vauxhall was featured on this episode of watch dog and in case you missed it we are posting some info here. The problem is that new Vauxhall models are catching fire without warning due to an electrical fault. It is mostly the new Corsa C range with some Tigra B and Combo C vans also affected (Reg Plates Starting 53, 54 & 55).
This is obviously quite a worrying fault, especially if you have a garage. Vauxhall was forced to recall around 200,000 cars because of the issue of water getting into the antilock brake system which can cause a short circuit and as some Vauxhall owners have found a rather nasty fire.

Seat have done a complete U turn on its seat belt reminder system. The decision earlier this year to remove the system was heavily criticised by EURO NCAP and SEAT have now told NCAP that it has no plans to remove the system.

Nissan are planning to launch a next generation fuel cell vehicle in early 2010. 2010 will see hopefully gasoline engine technologies that will enhance fuel economy and at the same time reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Demand for cleaner, safer and more fuel-efficient vehicles is growing as people become more aware of climate change and how it will eventually affect us all.

On the same subject of theft, catalytic converters are being heavily targeted because of the high re-sell and scrap value. Even dealerships and forecourts have been hit as well as salvage yards. Cars
that are parked out of site in the dark have also fallen foul. Keep your car safe and park it within view.

In car sat nav units are being targeted by theives due to the high value and how easy they are to steal. It only takes a second to smash a window and remove. Theives will also smash your window if a
suction ring is visable as they will think it is in the glove compartment. Just wipe the ring clean with a tissue and never leave a unit in your car. This is very similar to the spate of mobile phone
thefts that used to occur. Currently about 12 sat nav units are stolen in the uk every minute.
